Avalon Mall’s parking garage needed to update its lighting system to improve the lighting level of the facility and reduce its energy consumption bills. Before the lighting upgrade, the Canadian shopping centre, located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, was equipped with 85 150-watt high pressure sodium luminaires. Stanpro’s lighting specialist suggested upgrading the multi-level parkade lighting with its LED garage luminaire, the LCAN Series that consumes only 45 watts.

This lighting project allowed Avalon Mall to save up to 71% in energy consumption, calculating cross-effects in its parking facility, a return on investment (ROI) of 327% in 5 years and a recovery investment time of a little more than 1 year.
