THE ROSEMÈRE ARENA

Both rinks of the Gaétan Boucher arena in the municipality of Rosemère were drab and poorly lit. Moreover, the dated lighting technology required frequent maintenance and its energy consumption was quite costly. Arena administrators decided to call upon Stanpro in 2017, requesting a lighting system upgrade to cut their energy costs and improve the quality of the arena’s overall lighting.

Before the lighting upgrade, the arena’s system comprised 50 metal halide luminaires, each unit consuming 458 watts (MH400 luminaires equipped with a ballast that used 58 additional watts).

A maintenance employee told us that we see a remarkable difference! Now, lights go on quickly (in the past, we used to have to wait at least 15 minutes before moving on to the rink) and skaters actually see much better.

Today, both rinks are lit with LED Bell Shape high bay luminaires that require no more than 150 watts.

This change has led to significant energy savings, plus a capital cost recovery in just a little over a year, and the arena’s return on investment (ROI) is set at 355% over a 5-year term.

At Stanpro, we provide state-of-the-art lighting technology that meet commercial requirements while supporting energy efficient specifications.
