Loyalist Country Inn & Conference Centre is a three-star independent hotel located in Summerside, Prince-Edward-Island. The hotel is a reference in the region due to its location, right by the Confederation Bridge and overseeing the majestic Summerside harbor.
In 2018, the owner reached out to Stanpro’s lighting specialist in order to revamp the lighting of its facilities from a high wattage lighting to our energy efficient LED’s luminaires.
The hotel had an historic look and it was important to maintain this image. The owner benefited from being able to consult directly with Stanpro’s lighting specialist, and keeping the traditional look of the hotel was achieved.
The transformation in few numbers
- 25 watt B10 incandescent bulbs were used throughout the hotel. We switched them to 2.5 watt LED’s, a 90% savings in energy.
- A number of fixtures containing F40T12 fluorescents were switched to our energy efficient LED fixtures. They are saving between 50 and 60% in energy costs using our LED Linear, LED Linear Tri-level and LED Wraps.
- Our Presto fixtures were used throughout the hotel. Because of their wet location rating they were used in all washrooms. It was also a perfect option for replacing linear fluorescents above all guest room doors in the hallways.
- The hotel had a quantity of 850 x 7C9 intermediate base bulbs (7 watts each) circling the entire outside of the building. With a simple bulb change we switched them to our 0.45 watt LED equivalents, a 94% savings in electricity costs. An additional benefit in switching to our LED’s is they are rated for 60,000 hours essentially eliminating maintenance.
