The Chalet du Lac in the Bromont, montagne d’expériences ski resort has undergone a complete facelift: the chalet itself was transformed to cater to the needs of skiers and visitors in a more welcoming ambience. Prior to its makeover, lighting in this ski chalet consisted of traditional recessed fixtures fitted with T8 fluorescent tubes. Today, the facility is equipped with 12-inch LED Edge-lit luminaire that have a 3000 K colour temperature and PAR20, 3000k lamps.
As the chalet’s ceiling is quite low, lighting experts recommended that a small size circular ceiling fixture be installed to counteract the oppressive effect caused by the previous rectangular fixtures, and thus create a sense of greater spaciousness.

In another area of the ski chalet, both recessed fixtures and the suspended ceiling were removed to open up the space: the ceiling was given a coat of black paint and track lights fitted with E-Lume PAR20 LED reflector lamps were set up against this backdrop.
The various alterations made to the lighting system resulted in a significant improvement of the lighting level, which went from 15 footcandles to more than 30.
