Product Specialist - Montreal, Quebec 

STANDARD, a Major Canadian Lighting Company with offices across Canada, is seeking to fill the position for a Product Specialist for its Montreal office. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Product Specialist will work closely with the Product Development Manager, the Graphics Manager, and the Marketing Manager to build and strengthen their product categories.  This is a 1 year contract position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
• Post secondary education
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment on several projects at once
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent knowledge of PC software (example Microsoft Office)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop all marketing collateral for respective categories
• Manage the product life cycle of all products in respective categories
• Responsible for monthly and yearly business results for respective product lines
• Explore and suggest new business opportunities to the PDM
• Define, suggest, and execute marketing (4Ps) strategies to maximize the growth of the categories
• Define and approve communications strategies with marcom team
• Suggest launch plans, manage, and lead implementations
• Visit customers to get market feedback and visit suppliers and attend trade shows
• Deliver on corporate actions and take lead on various strategies/tactics
• Define business models and value propositions by deeply understanding the market trends and consumer behaviours.
• Work closely with operational team to make sure it follows business targets and current market trends
• Suggest mid-term growth plan for respective product lines

The ideal candidate must be highly organized, with strong multi tasking skills. The ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and be an Excellent TEAM player are also important.

Human Resource Generalist – Montreal (contractual- Maternity leave replacement- 14 months)

JOB DESCRIPTION

STANDARD, a leading Major Canadian Manufacturer / Distributor of lighting products with offices across Canada, is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and organized HR Generalist. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Generalist is responsible provide services to our sales offices and distribution centers across Canada and be responsible for the payroll processing and act as a consultant for employees and managers.

•    Desire to learn and to be involved in different cases.
•    Written and spoken bilingualism a must (English and French)

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Accounting
•    3 to 5 years experience in human resources, payroll and benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Payroll processing and production of related reports (Ceridian system).
•    Participate in the annual compensation process: assist the Human Resources Director in this important process of performance recognition and retention of employees
•    Manage benefits and different programs and policies: PAE, training (act 90), SST, Worker’s Compensation, etc.  
•    Act as a consultant for employees and managers.
•    Support the Human Resources team in terms of recruiting.
•    Participate in different projects in cooperation with the HRD.
